Book Club is beginning!

Why Hello there book enthusiasts!

Welcome to the Book Club page, where we are taking our reading to the NEXT LEVEL!

Thank you for agreeing to be a part of this; we are excited to have you.

A few important announcements;

This is a page to learn, show your learning, and learn from others. It is not a page to chat with friends about how boring homeschooling is, or how often you’ve been playing console games in ‘iso.’

You are supposed to push yourself. You have been chosen by your teachers because they identified you as students who would do well being independent learners in this area. Don’t disappoint them by giving half-answers skimming through the book. If you are not enjoying the book once we are at the halfway point (Ch 6), we will give you the opportunity to ‘resign’. We will be sad, but we only want people in the group that really want to be here….

Usually, we would give you some choice with the text you are going to read, but unfortunately, this time we couldn’t. HOWEVER, one day we WILL be back together, and if we can do this well, the sky (and book choice) is the limit!

We will meet as a Bookclub every Monday at 9.30 with the meeting code bookclub5.. please be ready with all you need (the book club page open, the book you are going to work in, pens, etc). It is an expectation that whatever we have agreed to complete, you will have completed by the Monday session… this could mean reading extra chapters and answering the questions on the blog…

This is your extra reading task separate to class reading. You might read your allocated chapters after 12.30 when all your meets are done, in bed at night, over the weekend.. this can be used as your home reading.

All the chapter questions are ready to go, the book, but please don’t go ahead, stick with what we have assigned as a group, we need to stick together in this. Another cool trick, you can click on the chapter in the contents page to take you straight to the chapter of your choice, cool huh? We have learned so many cool tricks building this blog for you!

Should you need any adult help, you can ask;

– Your parents or an adult you live with
– another member of the Bookclub
– Your teacher
– Ms Terranova (bterranova@sgp.catholic.edu.au)

While there are no silly questions, sometimes there are questions you could have worked out the answer to had you given it some thought… so just make sure you do that first…

QUICK RULE REFERENCE

– answer in full sentences, onto the relevant part of the blog
– you can post a response to someone else’s answers, always be polite
– complete allocated chapters and answers
