Prep RT

Good afternoon Prep RT families,

We hope the children got some joy this week when creating their wacky characters, we sure have loved seeing them. Show and Tell has also been a hit during our morning meets. If your child did not have show and tell, they’ll be scheduled for next week, so please ensure you check the timetable.

The week 8 timetable is now ready to view under the tab ‘timetables’. We have some very exciting activities and videos for next week so we do hope the children have fun. The teachers sure have!

Things to note:

  • Please ensure your child is ALREADY in their school uniform before entering any google meet. Please DO NOT dress your child in front of the computer. If you do your child will be removed from now on.
  • Food and drink is NOT to be consumed during any meet
  • Children MUST be seated on a chair or stool. Please also note that anything happening in your background everyone can see and hear, so please keep background noise to a minimum.
  • If you are wanting to enter the Spoonville competition run by our visual arts teacher, please ensure you have read the guidelines and send everything to the appropriate email address. This can be found on the parent community page and we also posted the flyer on Seesaw. Any pictures posted on Seesaw we love to see but they won’t be entered into the competition.
It looks to be a lovely weekend so enjoy some much needed sunshine.
Stay safe.
Warm regards,
Mrs Sian Roberts & Ms Marcelle Branigan

Week 7 Timetable

Hello lovely Prep RT families and friends,

Would you believe next week is already week 7! Where has the time gone. We have loved reading the letters from the children this week as well as seeing the amazing facts they have learnt about Giraffes. All of the Giraffe drawings were fantastic!

The new timetable has been updated for your convenience under the tab ‘timetable’. Please take the time to scroll through and note when your childs literacy and maths groups are.

Next week we thought it would be lovely to have Show & Tell. This will run during week 7 and week 8. We have allocated three children per day. If you do not see your child’s name this means they will be on the following week.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to share with their class family something of their choice. Some examples of Show & Tell could be a: toy, pet, drawing, photo, book, something they got on a holiday etc……

It’s forecast to be a wild and woolly weekend, so stay safe and warm.

Warm regards,

Mrs Sian Roberts & Ms Marcelle Branigan

Week 6 & Small Groups

Hello Families,

Thank you for another wonderful week. It was great to see how excited the children were while celebrating their 100 Days of School!

Next week there are significant changes to the timetable, so please take note of when your child’s google meets are.

We have now moved into taking small fifteen minute math focus groups as well as the regular twenty minute English focus groups.

We wanted to thank you all for the tremendous effort you are going to to assist with your child’s remote learning. As parents ourselves we can appreciate the challenges this time is presenting and the juggle families are managing at home. You are doing an amazing job and the little learners of Prep RT are very lucky indeed!

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe.

Warm regards,

Mrs Sian Roberts & Ms Marcelle Branigan

Prep 100 Days!

We are all very excited to be celebrating 100 days of Prep tomorrow!

Here are a few reminders:

  • Children are invited to wear a 100 days themed costume or their best party clothes
  • Children will have two google meets. One at 9am and one at 12pm- use normal class code
  • Children are to bring their 100 day envelope unopened
  • If your child attends school please send them with their 100 day pack in their party clothes or costume
  • At 12pm your child will receive their certificate (these are in their 100 day pack so please ensure your child has this with them)

We understand that some families are still awaiting the arrival of their 100-day pack. Hopefully, these will arrive in time. If you do not receive yours by tomorrow, all of the activities are on the blog, under a tab titled ‘100 Days’. Parents may print from these or children may copy the general activity idea into their Remote Learning book or on some blank paper.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Sian Roberts & Ms Marcelle Branigan

Thank You

With Thanks from Mrs Roberts & Ms Branigan

Hello Prep families,

We wanted to take the time to say thank you for another terrific week. We know it’s been tough, but please be reassured that you’re all doing a tremendous job. The children are starting to show more independence in their learning and the morning google meets are amazing!

The week 5 timetable has now been uploaded under the tab ‘Timetables’. Please take note of any changes for next week.

We hope you enjoy the weekend and take some time to recharge and most of all stay safe and look after yourselves.

Warm regards,

Mrs Sian Roberts and Ms Marcelle Branigan

5 Star Colouring

We love seeing all of your AMAZING work on Seesaw! It makes us so proud to see how much you are learning and how much you are improving all the time.

One area for improvement we have noticed we can all try to work on (even Mrs Roberts & Ms Branigan!) is our drawing and colouring.

When we add pictures or illustrations to our work we are adding extra details for the people reading our work. Sometimes after we draw a picture it can even help us think of extra things we want to add to our writing!

We have added some pictures below that you can use to help you improve your drawing and colouring.

We can’t wait to see 5 STAR colouring in your work. It might take some extra time, or even a few go’s to get right, but it is all a part of our learning and making our work WOW Work!

Happy Learning friends!
