End of Week Message

Dear Prep RT Families,

We hope all the children enjoyed their week back of Term 4 and most importantly, their final week of remote learning. Thank you and well done to all our little learners and families on what has been a tremendous effort by all!

We are beyond excited to see all the children in person on Monday. This week our focus has been to prepare the children for their return to onsite learning and begin to orientate them to the new school environment and classroom. This will be a continued focus across the school in the coming weeks and term.

We have enjoyed some virtual tours this week of our learning studio and school grounds. We have included some pictures of our room below for families to see.

Below is the roster for ‘Show and Tell’. Throughout term 4, Prep children will be invited to share something from a given topic with their class each week. Please see the timetable below for weekly topics and your child’s allocated day. As we are heading into a very busy term, if your child’s given day falls on a public holiday or student free day they will be able to share on another day that week. Likewise, sometimes unexpected things happen throughout our day at school and we might run out of time. On these occasions children will also be able to share on another day. A hard copy of this roster will be sent home with your child on Monday. 🙂

Specialist timetables are still being finalised and when these become available to us we will share them with you as soon as possible.

Having been onsite this week preparing our learning space we have been struck by how quiet our Prep building is. Having taught for many years we can appreciate how busy and noisy Prep rooms are meant to be. It is with great excitement that we look forward to Monday when our room is once again filled with our wonderful prep family.

Have a wonderful and restful weekend.

Kindest regards,

Sian Roberts & Marcelle Branigan

Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4!

We hope you had a lovely and relaxing break over the school holidays.  We were lucky to have some great weather on some days where we could go outside and enjoy the sunshine.

We are both so thrilled to be coming back to classroom teaching and learning next week.  We can’t wait to see you face to face, as we have missed you all so much.

For this week, we are continuing with online learning.  Please check the timetable very carefully as some things have changed.  Some groups for reading have changed, and some maths groups have changed as well.  Some names will not be on the timetable for maths groups.  That is because we are not doing google meets on Tuesday for this week, as all the Prep teachers will be going into school that day to get ready for on-site learning again.

When you come back to school, you will notice something very different!  Our playground looks amazing and we can’t wait to show you how awesome it is!  It is very exciting!

Enjoy this last week of online learning, but I am sure you are all looking forward to coming back into the classroom next week.

Take care,

Mrs Roberts and Ms Branigan

Prep RT Holiday Message

Dearest Prep RT Families,

Today marks our final day of Term 3 Remote Learning. All our little learners AND families deserve a well-earned break.

We commend each and everyone of you for the efforts you have put into guiding your child through term 3. You all have a lot to celebrate!

Prep teachers are beginning to organise some exciting learning opportunities for Term 4, and we can’t wait to share these experiences with the children.

We have set goals for each child based on what we have noted during Remote Learning and will notify all families of these at the end of the holidays. These will be posted on Seesaw for each family to view.

If you are wanting your child to complete work, Wushka and StuddyLadder can still be accessed. Wushka book boxes will not be updated as we must ensure there will be enough for term 4. We expect children to read a book more than once to help build fluency and comprehension skills. On the Prep Blog at the end of each week there are suggestions on extra activities that can be completed.

We look forward to seeing  our prep family next term.

Have a safe and happy holiday.

With kindness,

Sian and Marcelle

Prep RT Weekly Message

Dear families,

Thank you for another incredible week. It’s been lovely to have a chat to each child this week and also look at what they now know in maths. Next week each child will have another 1:1 meet on the same day and time. The timetable is under the tab ‘timetables’.

If your child sees Ms Walker or Mrs Gauci these groups will still run as normal.

The Animal Posters that the children have been busy creating this week have been outstanding. Some children even dressed up as the animal they were writing about!

Next Friday 18th September is the last day of term 3, so we are inviting the children to wear their footy clothes, outfits or colours. This is of course optional.

We hope you all have restful weekend as we count down until holidays.

Warm regards,

Sian and Marcelle

Prep RT Weekly Message

Dear Prep RT Families,

First of all we need to give our  little prep learners a big applaud. Despite all that is going on at the moment, they have been soldering on everyday and showing great resilience. These little heroes really need to be acknowledged.

Secondly to all our wonderful families, you’re all doing a tremendous job! It is defiantly hard and sometimes quite challenging, we understand as we both have families to juggle ourselves. Please know you all deserve to be acknowledged and applauded for the effort you’re putting in to ensure your child is getting the most out of learning at home.

We hope you all enjoyed our Magical School Bus week and the children were able to have some fun and laughter. We have loved seeing some of the photos posted on Seesaw of their wonderful zoo adventures.

Please ensure you post 2-4 pictures (if possible) of your child completing some of the zoo activities. They can pretend to be feeding the animals, exploring, taking a photo etc… We will need these photos posted by Saturday 5th so we have time to create something special to show the children next week.

Things to note:

  • Week 9 there will be a 1:1 meet with each child for half an hour. Please ensure you have checked the schedule which was posted yesterday and can also be found on the weekly timetable. Please ensure your child does not enter until their allocated time slot. This will ensure the child before is not interrupted.
  • Friday 11th September children are invited to dress up as their favourite animal. They could also bring a toy if they do not have or want to get dressed up. This is of course optional.

This Sunday 6th September marks Father’s Day. We hope all the dads and special males in your lives have a fun filled day. We’re sure there will be plenty of zoom and face-time meets with family members celebrating in a very different way this year.

Warm regards,

Sian & Marcelle

Prep Check-Ins

Dear Prep RT Families,

During Week 9 (Monday 7th Sept- Friday 11th Sept), Prep teachers will be timetabling half hour “check- ins” with each child in lieu of our Reading and Maths focus groups.

It would be helpful if children could please wear headphones and have their Remote Learning Pack on hand.

Please refer to the timetable below to see your child’s scheduled time slot.

Check- in code is: preprt

We kindly ask that children do not log into their meet before their scheduled time, so as not to interrupt the check-in of the child prior.

Warm regards,

Sian & Marcelle

Seesaw

Hello there wonderful families,

We hope you’re all doing well and that the children are enjoying this weeks fun ‘Magical School Bus’ tasks. If you have taken pictures of your child completing the virtual excursion this week, please post them on Seesaw. I will endeavor to put something together for the children to see.

Pictures could be:

– Watching the excursion

– Completing a task

-Wearing a hat while they listen to zoo keepers

– Pretending to feed one of their favourite animals they saw.

Please note this is optional.

Warm regards,

Sian & Marcelle

P.S. You’re all doing a tremendous job to keep our little learners motivated and going strong.

Prep RT

Good afternoon Prep RT families,

We hope the children got some joy this week when creating their wacky characters, we sure have loved seeing them. Show and Tell has also been a hit during our morning meets. If your child did not have show and tell, they’ll be scheduled for next week, so please ensure you check the timetable.

The week 8 timetable is now ready to view under the tab ‘timetables’. We have some very exciting activities and videos for next week so we do hope the children have fun. The teachers sure have!

Things to note:

  • Please ensure your child is ALREADY in their school uniform before entering any google meet. Please DO NOT dress your child in front of the computer. If you do your child will be removed from now on.
  • Food and drink is NOT to be consumed during any meet
  • Children MUST be seated on a chair or stool. Please also note that anything happening in your background everyone can see and hear, so please keep background noise to a minimum.
  • If you are wanting to enter the Spoonville competition run by our visual arts teacher, please ensure you have read the guidelines and send everything to the appropriate email address. This can be found on the parent community page and we also posted the flyer on Seesaw. Any pictures posted on Seesaw we love to see but they won’t be entered into the competition.
It looks to be a lovely weekend so enjoy some much needed sunshine.
Stay safe.
Warm regards,
Mrs Sian Roberts & Ms Marcelle Branigan
