Week 4 Timetables

Hello Families,

It was so lovely to meet you all on Wednesday. I have loved getting to know all the children of Prep S over the last few weeks and am very excited for the months ahead.

This morning I have updated next weeks timetables, under the ‘Timetables’ tab at the top of this page. I have tried to keep English groups consistent but have had to make one or two small changes to accomodate all our little learners.

I have included a seperate a small group timetable below which specifies what resources children should bring to their groups. While these small groups do run differently to our focus teaching groups at school, they are off to an incredible start and will continue to have an impact on our learning. I do remind families though not to prompt your Prep child with answers. We use those moments of silence and pause as thinking time and I use those moments to gauge what a child may need further support with. These lessons are designed to build on from each other and help children learn skills to apply when working independently. While some lessons in isolation may appear ‘easy’ to an adult, they contribute to larger understandings that develop over time for young children. I thank each family for their support.

Please don’t forget there are videos on the class blog with ideas of extra activities with resources from the larning pack.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, hopefully blessed with some lovely winter sun!

Katrina 🙂

Friday 31st July Google Meet

Hello Families,

Just a reminder that if children would like to participate, tomorrow’s Google Meet theme is ‘Crazy Hair!’. Crazy hair is not compulsory but might be a bit of fun to end our week.

Tomorrow is also Mrs Saad’s final day with us and we will wish her well tomorrow.

Kind Regards,

Katrina

Week 3 Timetable changes

Please look at the Week 3 timetable, found under the ‘Timetables’ tab at the top of this page. To accomodate interviews next week, some small group meet times may have changed.

Please also note some of the fun we will be having in our morning check-ins:

  • Monday Morning Check-In-  Children are asked to bring their favourite toy to share and cuddle

  • Tuesday- A Special Guest will be joining us!

  • Friday Morning Check-In – Children are asked to wear their ‘craziest’ hair!

Blog Activities

Hello Prep S Families,

Below I have posted a video for children, letting them know about the extra activities featured on our class blog. Children may like to go to one of these learning activities when their work for the day is complete, or if they have some free time.

Instead of the nightly readers children would normally receive at school, Wushka has interactive readers that are assigned to the children. These are changed weekly and are meant to be ‘an easy’ read. As always, we encourage Prep children to reread a book many times. This is an important part of learning to read.

StudyLadder is also available for the children. Sometimes a Maths lesson may require children to complete a task but children are welcome to explore and have a go at activities on StudyLadder at any time. It is a wonderful resource.

Kind Regards,
Katrina Taylor

Blog Activities

Hello Prep Friends!

Please explore the class blog for lots of fun activities. You might like to have a go at some of these after you have finished your learning for the day. You might even want to do one of these activities with someone from your family!

I hope you have fun and I will be adding to these over the next few weeks.

Happy Learning Prep S!
