Good Morning Prep B families,

I hope that you are all staying safe and well.

As the term is approaching the end the prep teachers have noticed that the children are getting fidgety and losing focus towards the end of our morning meets therefore next week I have decided to trail morning meets that go for 20 minutes (9-9.20) instead of 30 minutes. This change will be shown in the week 8 timetable that I will post this afternoon. The 20-minute morning meeting will allow the children to get started on their learning earlier.

Hello Prep Friends and families!

I have just updated some of the activities on our class blog. Please explore the class blog for lots of fun activities. You might like to have a go at some of these after you have finished your learning for the day. You might even want to do one of these activities with someone from your family!

I have added some new guided drawing, guided dancing videos that your child may like to use. I have also added an ‘alphabet’ tab where you child can continue to practise their letter and sound knowledge through some videos.

Instead of the nightly readers children would normally receive at school, Wushka has interactive readers that are assigned to the children. These are changed weekly and are meant to be ‘an easy’ read. As always, we encourage Prep children to reread a book many times. This is an important part of learning to read.

StudyLadder is also available for the children. Sometimes a Maths lesson may require children to complete a task but children are welcome to explore and have a go at activities on StudyLadder at any time. It is a wonderful resource.

Dear Prep Families,

Thank you for another wonderful week. It was great to see how excited the children were while celebrating 100 days of school.

Next week there is significant changes to the timetable, so please take note of when your child’s googlemeets are. We have now moved into taking small fifteen minute maths groups as well as the regular 20 minute English group.

We are all very excited to be celebrating 100 days of Prep tomorrow!

Here are a few reminders:

• Children can wear a 100 days themed costume or their best party clothes
• Children will have two googlemeets tomorrow one at 9 am and one at 12pm- use normal class code
• Please bring your child’s 100 day pack to the 9 am meet
• If your child attends school please send them with their 100 day pack
• At the 12pm meet your child will recieve their certificate (these are in their 100 day pack so please bring this certificate to the 12pm meet)

We understand that some families are still awaiting the arrival of their 100-day pack. Hopefully, these will arrive in time. If you do not receive yours by tomorrow, all of the activities are on the blog, under a tab titled ‘100 Days’. Parents may print from these or children may copy the general activity idea into their Remote Learning book or on some blank paper.

Hello Prep Friends!

I love seeing all of your AMAZING work on Seesaw! It makes me so proud to see how much you are learning and how much you are improving all the time.

One area for improvement I have noticed we can all try to work on (even Ms Borg!) is our drawing and colouring.

When we add pictures or illustrations to our work we are adding extra details for the people reading our work. Sometimes after we draw a picture it can even help us think of extra things we want to add to our writing!

I have added some pictures below that you can use to help you improve your drawing and colouring. These are us in our classroom as well for when we are back together at school.

I can’t wait to see 5 STAR colouring in our work. It might take some extra time, or even a few go’s to get right, but it is all a part of our learning and making our work WOW Work!
