Week 3  Foundation

Visual Arts Activities

As previously mentioned in my blog Mr Sheedy and myself are organising sketch books for each of the students to use during art sessions.  Please encourage your son or daughter to use it and to draw, sketch or design any of the images they see or enjoy creating at home, inside, outside in the backyard at the local park etc.  I look forward to seeing these pictures please share them with me via email or a google doc if you can. Please also refer to my latest  video showing this week’s nature walk.  HAPPY SKETCHING!

As children are learning about families during their inquiry sessions, I thought it would be appropriate for them to continue to learn and discover their family unit during visual art sessions.

I would like children to draw, sketch, paint and design their family unit.

Please begin the discussion by explaining that families come in various shapes and sizes and that each family is special and individual in their own way.  I have an example below of how we can show and express our family unit.  Again I stress only use the materials and resources you already have at home.

Also please encourage children to share their drawing with you on completion and why it is special to them? Perhaps also get them to write about their picture.  Once again please feel free to share these images with me.

*Please view the Zart art competition and enter, you just never know your entry might be the one that wins!
