Parents, just a quick message to let you know this activity will require parental supervision.  Also, please only use resources that you may already have at home.

How to make Oobleck Slime

Learning Intention: To understand how chemical reactions can change the state of certain ingredients.

Success Criteria: A platform for learning many important chemical principles while making a cool object that provides hours of fun!

We are learning and playing with simple kitchen science experiments.  Why Kitchen science?  Because everything you need is already in your kitchen cupboards.  There are so many cool experiments to do at home with everyday household items.  This experiment is sure to develop a love for not only being creative in art, but also learning through science.  Have lots of fun kids and please remember to  film, share and upload  your work to me via email and/or google doc.

REMEMBER GET CREATING!

Ingredients:

Water

Cornstarch

Food colouring (optional)

How to Make Oobleck in Your Kitchen

  1. Mix 1 part water with 1.5 to 2 parts cornstarch. You may wish to start with one cup of water and one and a half cups of cornstarch, then work in more cornstarch if you want a more ‘solid’ oobleck. It will take about 10 minutes of mixing to get a nice homogeneous oobleck.

2.Mix in a few drops of food coloring if you want colored oobleck.

3.There you have it, your amazingly gooey oobleck slime!  Enjoy play and REMEMBER to film and       share the  process you went through to create your oobleck slime creation with me!
