Video 1: Watch and listen to Miss Mifsud explore our new topic of ‘CHANCE’

Task

Watch the video of Miss Mifsud explain your task

  1. Flip a coin 10 times and record if it lands on heads or tails.
  2. Write down what you notice using the vocabulary
    • Most likely
    • Least likely
    • Equal chance
  • How many possibilities are there when you flip a coin?
  • Can you tell us how many times out of 10 flips you got tails? Was it the most ? Was it the least?

Do the chance experiment again and see if your results change

Compare your results.

  • Were they the same? How
  • Were they different? How?

Challenge

Find something around the house that has two possibilities like the coin. You could use things like a bottle cap, rubber or spoon.

Using your new object, toss it 15 and then 20 times.

What part of the object was tossed most ? What part of the object was tossed least?

Compare your results with the results you got in the coin toss.

  • Were they the same? How
  • Were they different? How?
