Answer the following questions in your workbook.

• In Chapter 1, Millicent bought presents for her cousins. How are the presents important in the story?

  • Is Millicent a good problem solver? How do you know? Who solved Millicent’s problem in this book? How did they solve it?

  • Look at pages 12 and 13, including the letter. Millicent planned to go home to sleep in her own bed. What reason did she give her cousins? Why would she make an excuse instead of telling the real reason? What does this tell you about Millicent?

  • Look at page 16. Why did Millicent say, “This is the best bed ever,” when it was wobbly, lumpy and scratchy? What is the lesson in this story?
