COVID-19 RAT Testing for Students on Year 5 Camp

on May 4, 2022

In line with the Victorian Government COVID Safe measures it is recommended that students continue Rapid Antigen screening during camps or overnight excursions. It is recommended that all students complete a RAT test on the morning of camp or overnight excursion and parents are asked NOT to send their child to school if a positive result is shown (this includes a faint line on the test strip or even if they have no symptoms).

In line with these guidelines staff will be required to conduct a rapid antigen test on your child in the event that the student displays symptoms while away from home or where it is recommended by the relevant Local Public Health Unit or advised by the Department of Health.

Staff will complete the relevant training prior to conducting the RAT test on students. In order for these tests to be carried out when required, permission must be obtained from all parents/guardians prior to the camp. When consent is not obtained, parents will be required to collect symptomatic students.

Can you please complete the permission form which will allow staff to conduct a RAT test on your child while away at camp, if they develop symptoms. A Phone call will also be made to parents prior to completing the RAT test.

Thank you
Michelle Potter
School Nurse.
