Professional Learning : Staff Meeting /PLT

Professional Learning takes place as part of the Staff Meeting and The Professional Learning Team.

Staff Meetings:

The proposed agenda for each meeting is our record of the topics for each meeting. The minutes (taken by the designated minute taker) are our record of the meeting content as well as attendance. Staff are to log in their own attendance

When Staff Meeting /PLT content is a Specific Professional Learning topic( eg. Down Syndrome awareness-1 Hr) the information will  be added to CEVN My IPLS .

For the purposes of VIT Registration a teacher can include the Staff Meeting and PLT hours as part of Professional Learning time.

 

STAFF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING MEETINGS & PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
TEAM MEETINGS
Staff Professional Learning Meetings (PLMs) are held weekly on a Monday and begin
promptly at 3.45 p.m., concluding at 5 p.m. All teaching staff members (including
specialists) are required to attend all meetings or the pro-rata full time equivalent amount
for part time staff. Part Time staff members are required to liaise with the Deputy Principal
as to attendance at those meetings relevant to their role or specific needs, e.g. whole
school performance briefing.

Professional Learning Team Meetings (PLTs) are held weekly on a Wednesday,
alternating Maths and Literacy P-2 and 3-6. They will begin promptly at 3:45 p.m.
concluding at 4:45 p.m. All teaching staff members are required to attend all meetings or
the pro-rata full time equivalent amount for part time staff. Literacy and Mathematics will be
held weekly but alternate teams each week, either Junior (prep – 2) or middle senior (year
3 – year 6) teams.

All staff members are required to attend all meetings or the full time equivalent amount for part time staff. Part Time staff members are required to attend those meetings relevant to their role. Should you be unable to attend, please notify either the Deputy Principal or Principal.

The Principal may find it necessary to call extra staff meetings on occasions – such
meetings will be regarded in the same light as the regular staff meetings.

Staff members are asked to:
▪ Arrive punctually and remain for the entire meeting
▪ Contribute actively and be willing to volunteer their services to such a meeting and
its outcome.
▪ Share responsibility for the role of chairperson, secretary and leading prayer.
Minutes are kept for each meeting. A roster is distributed for minutes, chairperson
and staff prayer.
▪ Read the agenda for meetings and contribute as necessary. The agenda will
include general business and agenda for the focus of the meeting. Items for
General Business must be forwarded to the Deputy Principal prior to the meeting
