August 19, 2020 at 1:49 pm in reply to: Why do the twins think Meg has so much trouble at school? #454stgpadmin
MemberI think the twins think Meg isn’t doing well in school because she thinks she made bad choices and didn’t really keep up with hear learning like most other people. Also because when someone called her Charlie Wallace dumb she the twins said to leave it to them.
August 19, 2020 at 1:46 pm in reply to: What does Mrs.Who say to Meg that lets us know that something is about to happen? #453stgpadmin
MemberI think Miss Who was being a bit weird and mysterious because in the book she said things that sounded something someone mysterious would say like “It’s nearly time” and even “The time is not quite right” and it’s like she can sense what would happen in the future and that’s really odd.

MemberMaybe the twins think that Meg doesn’t do well at school because she makes bad choices because like when she fought the boy who called Charles dumb Dennys and Sand told Meg they should’ve took care of it. The twins do pretty well at school but Meg wants everyone to believe that she doesn’t.

MemberI think Mrs Who was being kinda mysterious, like she was stating ‘It’s nearly time’ and ‘The time is not quite right’. It’s weird for me she knows Megs name because I’m pretty sure she hasn’t met her before. Mrs Who also speaks differently in different languages too (she must be pretty smart to know that!).

MemberI think that Mr Jenkins cares that Meg shall do well in school because the thought of her father and him coming home or not seems to be distracting her. I think that Meg should believe that her father isn’t coming home because it’s been so long since they’ve heard from him and Meg just needs to accept that her father may not be alive or may not be coming home. I agree with Natalie that deep down Meg is still thinking about it and she’s still sad.

MemberI think the principal is saying this because Meg is not doing so well in school and she seems to feel sad about her dad, and Mr Jenkins wants Meg to do well in school and he thinks that her dad is making her feel sad and distracted with her learning and that if he gets her to believe that her dad is gone then she will be able to focus more on her learning. I think that Meg shouldn’t believe Mr Jenkins because if the thought of her father not coming back she would feel even more sad and depressed and she would be even less focused on school because it’s better to think of the positive things rather then the negative things.

MemberMrs Whatsit is quite odd in several ways like walking in hurricanes and storms but she is still very friendly and talks calmly to people
August 17, 2020 at 2:57 pm in reply to: What do Meg Murry’s actions tell you about her? How does Meg feel about her family? #447stgpadmin
MemberI think Meg is normal but she is someone who doesn’t believe in herself because she thinks she is dumb, and she thinks her whole family is worthy of doing good things but she thinks she is far behind and believes she will never be good at anything

MemberYes, Because I am curious to know what a Tesseract is and why Mrs Murry was so upset.

MemberIt tells me that Mrs Murry is a very kind person because she didn’t mind Mrs Whatsit who was a stranger coming into her house

MemberShe mentions that her mother is a scientist, and that she has not stated that her father isn’t coming home, so until she does, she won’t believe otherwise. I think this is wise. Mr Jenkins has no extra information to Meg that I can tell, so he is just assuming rather than knowing.

MemberHer treatment of Meg and Charles also tells me a lot about her

MemberIt definitely made me want to read on to discover just what a tesseract is. I am predicting it is something that takes you to another land, I am also wondering if Meg’s dad might be there? Meg’s mother definitely knows something…
