Weeks 1-4
Year 2 students will commence term 2 revising colours and numbers and learning the alphabet. Students will view and listen to ‘Impara e canta i colori, l’alfabeto e i numeri’ Learn and sing the colours, the alphabet and numbers’.
Please use workbook to record all learning and take a photo and post on See Saw.
I Colori-The Colours: Students can write the names of the colours in Italian and English in that colour and draw an illustration of something in their home or the environment to represent that colour. For example students would use a yellow pencil/crayon/texta to write giallo and then draw a picture of a sun.
Students can then write their favourite colour:
Mi piace il colore ………………………………………………..
I like the colour ………………………………………………….
or
Mi piacciono i colori …………………………………………….
I like the colours …………………………………………………
Students can make a Memory Match game where the colours are written in Italian and English on separate cards in their colour. Students then shuffle the cards and place them with the writing face down. Family members take it in turns to select two cards and read them aloud. If they match they collect the cards. The player with the most cards wins the game. Keep your cards in a plastic bag in your workbook to share when you recommence school.
L’Alfabeto e I Numeri-The Alphabet & Numbers-Students can sing along to the song. Discuss similarities and differences to the English Alphabet. Have a family member trace the outline of a letter of the alphabet or number on your back with their finger and you need to pronounce the sound of that letter or the number in Italian. Play a game of PacUomo/PacMan where all siblings can play. The Caller needs to call out the letter of the alphabet/number/colours in English or Italian while participants stand around the room. Sibling/Family Members raise their hand to answer. If they answer correctly he/she can take a step. The object of the game is to tag everyone else so that you are the only one left standing. This game can be played with all learning areas.
Students can write the number in Italian and English and draw matching objects. Students can also reinforce numbers from 10-20.
Students will then work through interactive activities on Languages online Italian reinforcing the colours, the alphabet and numbers.
