Term 3. Week 8. Year 3. Italian.

Buongiorno ragazzi,

Today our lesson is about Father’s Day- ” La festa del Papa`”.  Did you know that in Italy, father’s day is celebrated on the 19th of March, which is The Feast of Saint Joseph’s Day! (  La festa di San Giuseppe) Saint Joseph was Mary’s. husband when Jesus was born.

Father’s day is celebrated on this day because Joseph was considered an excellent example of humility, love and righteousness for all father’s to emulate.

Italian people celebrate this day by cooking tasty sweets called zeppole, whilst the children make cards and write poems about their dad.
