Mothers Day gifts – for those that missed out

Just an FYI, the following post was sent out on Skool Loop to parents yesterday.

It should be first thing in Friday morning but is dependent on the availability of the PFC volunteers.

Good afternoon,
Our Mothers Day Stall was very busy this morning with students selecting over 660 gifts!
As the next 2 days are quite busy, we will open sales again for a short time on Friday morning for any students who were absent today or would like to purchase another gift (subject to availability)
Gifts are $5 each and we will make an announcement after the morning routine when it’s time for students to make their way to the stall to select their gifts.
Thank you to the Parents who volunteered their time to provide the opportunity for students to purchase gifts for their Mother, Grandmothers or significant person today – we really appreciate it!

Mothers Day Stall Schedule

Here is the Mothers Day stall schedule from the Parents and Friends Committee.

The stall will be set up in the Macpac. If there are any conflicts, please ask a colleague to swap or speak to Tammy (p_fcoordinator@stgeorgepreca.catholic.edu.au) as she will running the day.

For families that paid online – vouchers will be printed and distributed to the classrooms first thing tomorrow morning.
Please remind students to bring a bag to take their gift(s) home

Staff Conference room preferences

Our staff conference will take place on Thursday 01 August and Friday 02 August at the Great Ocean Road Resort in Anglesea.
Hopefully you have had a chance to work out your room preferences after seeing the email last week. There are 3 room type options and each option is limited to a certain number of rooms:
1. Triple Room – 3 beds – you must list all 3 names on the form to be eligible for a triple room
2. Twin room – 2 beds – 2 names required
3. Single Occupancy – these rooms are located next door at the Anglesea Riverside Motel – a 2 minute walk from the resort. You will have use of all resort facilities and meals with everyone else at the resort.
Allocations will be on a first come, first serve basis so if you request a single room but they’re all taken, I will contact you to let you know that you will need to find a room mate
If you do not organise a room share buddy one will be allocated to you based on the space available.
Dietary requirements should also be entered into the form – these are sent to the chef at GORR.
Do not email any preference to me, they must be entered on the form to be valid.
Details of the conference including times and agenda will be sent out by the leadership team closer to the date.

Canteen

Good afternoon SGP teachers

Please ensure you are the one handing out lunch orders when they have been collected from the canteen.

Yesterday a lunch order was placed for a child, they didn’t know or forgot and didn’t have lunch at all. The lunch order was still in the tub when it was returned to the canteen this morning. Sometimes orders are placed last minute so please just make sure the tub is empty at eating time so children do not miss out on their food.

If there is a lunch order for a student that is absent, please send it to the office and we will call parents in case they want to collect it. (yes, they often come to collect..)

Thank you

Photo Day timetable for tomorrow

Please find the photo day timetable below.
We will not be taking the whole staff photo tomorrow, instead we will take it the same day as the whole school photo later in the year.
Teaching staff & Co-Educators please to present yourself for individual portrait photos at the same time as your class.
Non teaching staff, please present yourself for your portrait prior to 9am.

School Canteen opening Term 2

We’re excited to welcome Quality Canteen Services (QCS) as our canteen operator from the start of term 2.

We will no longer be using CDFpay for lunch orders, QCS uses an app called Flexischools. We’re finalising how staff are set up and will send a notification in the coming days when you can download the app and add yourself, ready to order next term.

From Term 2, Lunch orders can be placed on flexischools until 8am every day or after 8am, you can put a brown paper bag with lunch order details, name and class written on the front of the bag and place the cash inside and place it in the classroom tub.

QCS will provide each classroom with a lunch order tub. Classroom teachers will need to assign canteen monitors to take the tub to the canteen by 9:15am every day. If you are a specialist teacher, please ensure your first class of the day has delivered their lunch orders to the canteen. Students will need to collect the tub at 11am ready for eating time.

The canteen will also be open every day for both breaks to buy snacks and drinks over the counter.

CLICK HERE for the new canteen menu.

PLEASE NOTE: As QCS and TheirCare now occupy the Macpac kitchen it is not open to SGP staff. Do not use the Macpac kitchen to store your food in the fridge or freezer, warm your lunch or sit to eat your food.

Chook checkers required

Hello everyone,

I trust this message finds you all in good spirits. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of you and working alongside you at SGP Primary School.

As the end of term approaches, I’m reaching out to seek volunteers among the staff to help care for our chickens during the upcoming school holidays, from Friday, March 29th, to our return on Monday, April 15th.

I’m in need of volunteers who can commit to checking on the chickens on specific days, ensuring they have ample supplies and care. It’s crucial that volunteers are available on the designated day to prevent any disruptions in their care routine.

Below are the available dates for volunteering:

  • Friday, April 5th

  • Sunday, April 7th

  • Tuesday, April 9th

  • Saturday, April 13th

Please let me know which date works best for you, and I’ll send a confirmation email upon receiving your nomination. I’ll also provide a detailed rundown of the tasks involved.

The chickens require attention every other day, including stretching their legs, replenishing their food and water, and collecting eggs. As a token of appreciation for your assistance, feel free to take home any eggs collected during your visit.

While I’ll be able to check on them myself on a few days, I’ll be away visiting family in New Zealand from Thursday, April 4th, to Wednesday, April 10th.

I’ll personally cover the following dates:

  • March 30th

  • April 1st, 3rd, 11th

Thank you all in advance for your willingness to help out! Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Warm regards,

Tim
