WARM UP: Just Dance

 

Choose any performing arts warm up that you like. 

  • Play Musical Freeze
  • D.O.W.N
  • The 1 – 8 count up and down 

Students  count from 1 -8 and back down starting with a click on 1.  Once they have counted up to 8 and back down, they then click on 1 and Clap on 3. The next time around  they add a nod on 5. Then a Jump on 6. Then a stomp on the right leg on 8 and left leg on the repeat of 8 counting back down to 1) 

  • Repeat this a few times to see if you can get faster. 

 

Activity: 

FAVOURITE PERFORMERS 

  • Choose your favourite performer…whether it is an actor  singer or Music group. Could be someone who does a voice over for one of your favourite characters (If you don’t have any, maybe you could ask your parents who their favourites are) 

Research Task….

Do a bit of research and answer the following questions. (These can be recorded in any way that is the easiest option for you, on paper, in an exercise book or in a google doc if you have a device to use) 

    • What is their name / name of the group? 
    • Why did you choose this person / group? 
    • Does this person use this name or go by a different ‘stage name’.  
    • What is the background of this artist? (what country are they from) 
    • What year were they born?
    • How did they discover their talent?(What or who inspired their journey?)
    • What is your favourite song this person sings / or your favourite movie this actor is in? 
    • If you could interview this person / group… what would be one question you would want to ask them. 
    • What genre is this performer best known for?  For instance, 1980’s Music, Rock n Roll, Comedy or Action movies ?
