Shared Lunch Volunteers for Multicultural Day

Good Afternoon!

I have placed a small piece of paper in all teacher pigeon holes for display in your rooms for families to record on if they’d like to offer to bring in a shared lunch for multicultural day. We have capped the number at 5 families. Parents will be sent a message on Skooloop tonight, to let you know by Monday onwards if they can help.

Have a good weekend,

Alessia and Reggie

Multicultural Day: November 20th

Multicultural Day will be held on Monday the 20th of November.

We will have a whole school parade at 9am to showcase some of the costumes from different cultures that children might be wearing. From 10-11am, teachers are asked to select a multicultural activity to do in class. There are some here on the Shared Drive. At 11am, you will have the opportunity to have a shared meal brought in by 5 different families from your class. Parents will be asked to volunteer from Monday onwards via a notice on Skooloop this afternoon if they’d like to provide a meal and we will leave a list for them to write on in your pigeon holes. They will need to provide a list of ingredients as well on the day.

After this, you may wish to continue with the multicultural theme in your middle block, linked to your other subject areas, however this is up to you.

We will have our Liturgy at 2:45pm on that Monday too, due to the Closure Day on the 24th.

Today’s Liturgy

Good morning!

Today’s liturgy will be outside, however we will try and see if we can fit under the shade cloths near the MacPac. Hats and drink bottles will still need to be brought. There is chalk on the concrete, so children will need a book to sit on as well. I will line up the cones with class names prior, and we will see how it goes! If it is tight, we will ask the Grade 5 and 6’s to stand on the sides for today.  We will also be trialling the new speakers!

Thanks for your support,

Alessia

Advent and Christmas Resources

Good afternoon everyone,

As we get nearer to beginning our Advent and Christmas units, we would like to let you know that we have bought a number of new teacher resources and a few picture books that can be used. I have scanned the front and back covers of them and popped these into the Advent and Christmas folder in Shared Drives-Resources-Religious Education. We hope that there is a new activity, a new template or idea that you will find useful this year. If you are interested in having a look, the physical copies are in the R.E. office. Link to the folder also here.

Thank you,

Alessia and Reggie

Photo Wall

Good morning Everyone!!

Thank you for the photos on our Staff room Cupboards. If you would like to keep your photo, please take it by Wednesday next week. I will be here on Thursday and will remove the remaining ones.

Thanks again for the hilarious conversations that were heard when trying to work them out!

Have a great long weekend,

Alessia and Reggie

Staff Photo Competition

Happy World Educator’s Day!!

It has been wonderful to listen to the discussions as people try and guess who the photos on the cupboard walls belong to. Due to popularity, we have extended entries until Tuesday 3pm, however if you’re finished and completed your guesses before hand, feel free to pop them in the container on the staff room bench as you finish or pass them to myself today or Reggie next week.  We can start scoring as we receive them rather than have all of them to do at once.  Open to all staff to have a go!

Have a great weekend,

Alessia and Reggie

Blessing Ceremony

Good Afternoon everybody,

Due to the weather, this afternoon’s blessing will be held indoors in the MacPac. It will be live streamed using the code Liturgy.

I will be logging in on my laptop as well as my phone. When Father Richard walks around to bless the buildings, I will follow him on my phone meet, so you will need to pin me on my phone to enlarge, then return  and pin the MacPac screen once we’re back.

Thanks!
