Hi all
Just a reminder to teachers and LSOs, please don’t access the resource rooms in the prep area during junior class time as this is very disruptive for students and teachers.
Thanks

Hi all
Most of you will already have an account from completing the disability modules in previous years but if you haven’t completed these can you create an account on the NCCD portal. Please just create an account, we don’t need to complete the modules at the moment.

Hi all,
Our school is included in the 2023 phase of the state-wide roll out of the Mental Health in Primary
Schools (MHIPS) program. The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) will be evaluating the
program as it expands across Victoria and I am writing now to invite you to participate in two online
surveys (term 1 and term 4) as part of the evaluation.
The Victorian Department of Education (DE) is funding all government and low-fee non-government
primary schools to employ a mental health and wellbeing leader (MHWL) as part of the MHIPS program.
The role of the MHWL is to build the capacity of the whole school to support student mental health and
wellbeing. The program is being delivered by Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and
Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) at the University of Melbourne in partnership with DE.
The research study aims to evaluate the program as its scales up state-wide. It will focus on the
implementation and impact of the program.
Our school has agreed to participate in staff surveys at two time points (Term 1 and Term 4) as follows:
a 15-minute online survey to be completed by all relevant staff (teachers, leadership, wellbeing
and education support staff).
the online surveys include demographic questions about the individual, as well as questions
about student mental health and wellbeing and what student mental health supports exist in
your school.
the Term 1 survey is due on Friday 24 March – please see details below.
To access the Participant Information and Consent Form and complete the survey, please click here:

The research study has approval through the Royal Children’s Hospital Human Research Ethics
Committee (RCH HREC: 65924) and the Department of Education Research in Schools and Early Childhood
Education process (RISEC # 2020_004332). If you have any questions about the research, please contact
the MCRI research team at mhips@mcri.edu.au or call 03 9936 6072.
Please note that participating in this research is completely voluntary and will not impact on your
relationship with the Department.
Thanks

Hi all
Next Tuesday, Feb 7 is Safer Internet Day. This year it would be good to participate to help raise awareness around safe internet usage.
In the Wellbeing folder in the Planning Drive, there is a Safer Internet Day folder with slideshows for Yrs 1-2, 3-4 & 5-6. These slideshows have discussion points around the internet along with notes on how to lead the conversation. I know that it is short notice, but could I ask that on Tuesday next week, each class spends time going through the slideshow for their level?
We will send some communication home to parents about it shortly.
Thanks
Davis
