chook checkers wanted over the holidays

Hi everybody,

I am looking for staff to come in and check on the chooks over the Christmas holidays starting Wednesday 20th December. Can you please let me know if you would like to come in on one of the following days. But you MUST be available for the day you nominate. Once I have all the dates covered I will come and see you about what needs to be done. Last year it was every three days but I found it was too long and the chooks were nearly running out of water and food so this time it is every two days.

FOXES

I have some unfortunate news regarding the chooks. There were two foxes spotted running through the school grounds this morning. So this means that the girls will not have the great freedom that they have always had and they will have to be locked up all day. If a teacher does go in the area please very mindful of the fox situation if you do want to let them out. But you MUST make sure they are locked away before you leave and be wary to keep a look out just in case while you are in the area.

You don’t want to be the person to say we are now missing any chooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Geoff

plant sale

Plant sale

Tomorrow I will be putting out some small plants that I have grown from cuttings and there are a few that have just beginning to sprout that I have grown from seed. Some of them are smaller than others but all plants regardless of pot they are in and their size all cost $1 each. There will be wallflower, artotis daisy, mint, parsley, tarragon, chives, basil, rosemary, oregano and perennial basil. Even though they may be small if they are looked after they should be fine.

The chooks say thanks

broad beans

Good afternoon everybody.

I was approached by one of the teachers this morning to buy all of the broad beans so I am very sorry there will not be any for sale tomorrow. Everything else is for sale if you contact me.

I have some spring onions and some silverbeet which I will only pick if you ask for it. If you order anything I will put it in a zip lock bag with your name on it and leave it in the fridge for you. I also have some fresh herbs for a donation but will only cut them if you order them so they are not wasted so contact me if you would like any. At the moment I have some garlic chives, tarragon, perennial basil, chives, sage, oregano, rosemary and a little bit of thyme.

NEXT WEEK I WILL HAVE SOME SMALL PLANTS AND HERBS FOR SALE THAT I HAVE GROWN FROM CUTTINGS.

The chooks say thanks.

broad beans

Good morning everybody,

Tomorrow I will be putting the last of the broad beans in the staff room, and I also have some spring onions and some silver beet which I will only pick if you ask for it. They will be in the lunch room for tomorrow only and the jar for your donation will be on the bench for your money. If you do order anything I will put it in a zip lock bag with your name on it and leave it in the fridge for you. I also have some fresh herbs for a donation but will only cut them if you order them so they are not wasted so contact me if you would like any. At the moment I have some garlic chives, tarragon, perennial basil, chives, sage, oregano, rosemary and a little bit of thyme. Please bring some small change in case you decide you want to buy something because the chooks don’t take IOU’s. All money goes towards the upkeep of the chooks and buying vegetable seedlings.

And next week I will have some small herbs and plants for sale that I have grown from cuttings.

The chooks say thanks.

my new little friends!

Murray and Hazel the two magpies I have befriended and have feeding nearly every morning over the last few years have finally become proud parents of a little female magpie and I have named her Zara after my granddaughter. Over the last few weeks I now have another small friend which I feed, a willy wagtail which obviously is called Willy!!!
