Good morning.
If you have any egg cartons at home if you cold please bring them to school
and put them in the black container in the staff room over near the fridges.
Thanks
Geoff
I will be putting a few veggies in the staff room tomorrow. I have a small amount of beetroot, chillies, snow peas and spring onions. There will be a couple of small parsley and dill seedlings in punnets and pots (ready to plant in your garden) along with some Arctotis (slow spreading African Daisy) as well. There are plenty of fresh herbs but I am not going to pick them unless you ask for them. I have garlic chives, perennial basil, chives, parsley, tarragon, rosemary, sage and mint. So make sure you bring along some change just in case you want to buy some of the veggies or to order some of the fresh herbs.
The chooks thank you.
Geoff
Anyone who has any good or bad potatoes that they are going to throw out
could you please bring them to school and put them in the blue bucket
in the staff room that I’m going to leave there until Friday. It doesn’t matter
how bad they look!
Thanks
Geoff
Just letting you all know and mainly the staff that are parked in the carpark behind the boom gate that the sliding and boom gates are both working now.

I still have 3 basil plants left for sale at $4 each and I will be digging them all up by Friday so don’t miss out. They are in the ground and not in pots so if you would like one I will dig it up and cut the roots off for you (unfortunately they are too big to transplant) to clean it up. So you don’t waste it you can dry it by hanging it up in a cool dry place, oven dry it or even carefully in the microwave. You can also freeze it by laying the leaves on baking paper in the freezer and after about 30minutes or so, put them into an airtight freezer bag. Having said that our favourite thing for basil is Pesto. Here is one recipe to get you started –
2 cups lightly packed basil leaves
2 small cloves of garlic
¼ cup (40g) pine nuts toasted
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup olive oil
Step 1 – place basil, garlic, pine nuts and parmesan in a food processor until mixture is finely chopped
Step 2 – with the motor running, gradually add the oil in a thin stream until well combined, season.
Step 3 – place in an airtight container, cover with a little oil (stops the pesto turning black)
Pesto will last in the fridge for a few weeks or put the pesto in ice cube trays and freeze and it will last for ages.
If anyone would to buy one just email or message me and I will organise to get one to you.
Thanks
Geoff
I am looking for some chook helpers over the upcoming school holidays. The days that I need someone to come in and check on the chooks are –
SUNDAY 9-4-23
WEDNESDAY 12-4-23
FRIDAY 14-4-23
WEDNESDAY 19-4-23
FRIDAY 21-4-23
When I have all of the days covered I will let the people coming in to check on the chooks know what to do when they get there and obviously you get to keep any eggs you collect.
Thank Geoff
