Writing Resources – Sky, Grass, Dirt Paper

How do we write at school?

At school, children are taught to write using the Victorian Cursive Font. The image below shows you where the body of the letters form (grass) and then extend (sky) or drop down (dirt). The tri colours of the sky, grass and dirt make things a little easier for children to begin to learn where to start their letters on ‘dotted thirds’ paper when they come to school.

Below is a PDF that you are able to download if you would like to practice this with your child.
