Task 1:

You are to click the link below and read about an animal that you don’t know much about.

  1. In your books draw a picture of your animal
  2. List 5 interesting facts you have learnt about it.

Now, it is time to compare your chosen animal with another in the last two weeks.

We have looked at a hippopotamus, a giraffe, a panda, a tiger, a zebra, a elephant and a flamingo.

Go back through your book and identify something that is similar or different between your animal you chose today and others that we have learnt about.

Additional activity:

  1. Draw a picture of the animal you have chosen today and one other animal we have learnt about in the last two weeks.
  2. Draw two speech bubbles of the animals introducing themselves and what you think they might say to each other.

Warm up: doubles and halves

  1. Call out a number
  2. The other person must tell you what the double of it is. (numbers in red)

Challenge: since you’ve mastered doubles, time to do halves.

Person 1 call out one of the red numbers,
Person 2 must say what half of that number is.

Task:

Go on scavenger hunt around your house and find grids and arrays.

Some examples might be

  • egg carton
  • Parked cars
  • Tiles
  • Storage cubes / shelving 
  • Ice cube trays 

Explore your house and find as many as you can,

List and draw them in your book.
