Year 2 Visual Arts Activities
Looking at narrative Art vocabulary. Linking Visual Arts to student Inquiry topics (family, stories and traditions).
Ask students to think about a dramatic moment in their lives.
Ask them to close their eyes and visualise that moment.
Where were they?
Who was with them?
How was the weather?
What time of the day was it?
What actions were happening around them?
Discuss and record student responses.
When students have finished visualising and discussing, ask them to create an artistic piece based on their answers. I can’t wait to see them!

Zart Art Competition
The wonderful people at Zart Art shop are running an art competition. Students of any age can enter to win $700 of art supplies. To enter, you must create an artwork that fits the theme “home is where the art is” The competition will end on the 7th of May.
