Visual Arts Activities Year 5
As per last week’s session students will involved in creating visual arts activities centered around their inquiry topic: Geography and the world around them.
Before commencing this session with your child, ask them what they already know about Geography? Please record student understandings, and then use it as a tool at the end of the session to continue to gather their understandings.
You can begin session by conducting a small quiz at the end of the session.
Some questions you might want to ask are:
In which American city is the Golden Gate Bridge located?
What is the capital of Thailand?
Cairo is the capital of which country
What is the capital of England?
What is the capital of Canada?
What is the Capital of Morocco?
Madagascar is surrounded by which Ocean?
Which country is the biggest in the world?
What is the capital of Spain?
What is the capital of Morocco?
Mount Everest lies in which mountain range?
When you have completed your quiz you may begin the art activity below.
The materials you will need for this activity are:
-A sharpie
– A piece of white paper
-Coloured cardboard for mounting
-Coloured pencils
-An eraser
I would like you to either draw or photocopy the picture of the world and hands and list all the different ways we can help our world. Give examples such as walking to destinations if possible rather than using a car. Recycling, re-using etc, give and list as many examples as possible and place them in the picture of our world. Please also mount on a piece of coloured cardboard and do not forget to share your amazing work with me!

Zart Art Competition
